Les Jardins de l’Anse-au-Loup
Lydia Parent | MRC Rocher-Percé
Founded in 2021, Les Jardins de l’Anse-au-Loup is located in Grande-Rivière, in the Gaspé Peninsula. After discovering the joy of gardening, Lydia Parent decided to start her own ecological market garden micro-farm.
A micro-farm, yes—but one that still offers a wide variety of produce! You’ll find vegetables, herbs, and fruits grown locally and in an eco-responsible way. In addition to fresh products, Lydia also offers transformed and derivative goods such as seedlings, seeds, preserves, frozen items, jams, jellies, and even recipes or advice.
Her mission is to produce and provide high-quality market garden products for the local community with a commitment to sustainable and ecological agriculture.
The financing provided by AMCGÎM enabled Lydia to acquire eco-responsible professional equipment:
- Inventory, tools, and equipment for seedling production
- Tools and equipment for cultivation and maintenance
- Tools and equipment for harvesting
- Materials for storing freshly harvested products
“I truly believe that obtaining this loan brought legitimacy to my project and allowed me to secure a government grant (Fidsa), which will also help me acquire the BCS tractor of my dreams (a walk-behind tractor, of course!)”
“With all of this, I can expand my production area, extend the season, and thus produce in greater quantity, more quickly and efficiently—generating more income. I might even be able to hire staff soon! I think it’s fair to say that Accès Microcrédit gave my sails a mighty gust of wind!”
